If Soulframe is crashing and you are only using an Intel-integrated graphics card, the drivers are often the culprit.
Update Windows
Out-of-date drivers in Windows can cause a variety of issues and are the first thing to check when crashing. Even new computers can have out-of-date drivers and operating systems because updates are released routinely.
- Open Settings. Go to Update & Security.
- On the left side, click on Windows Update, then select Check for updates, from the right side.
Update Drivers
Making sure you have the most up-to-date Intel drivers can greatly help with stability and performance in-game.
- For Intel: We recommend clicking the "Execute a clean installation" option during this process.
- For AMD: We recommend clicking the "Factory Reset" option during this process.
Note for laptops: Some laptop manufacturers require that you obtain drivers directly from them. Please check your Laptop's manual to see if yours fits into this category. If so, you will have to go directly to their website to obtain them. If the laptop is older, updated drivers may not be available. In this case, download the most up-to-date revision they offer.
Roll Back Drivers While you always want the most up-to-date drivers, sometimes the newest revision may have unforeseen compatibility issues. In these cases, rolling them back to a previous revision can help until the newest driver bugs have been fixed.
To do this:
- Open Device Manager, click Start Control Panel Device Manager.
- Expand Display Adapters.
- Double-click on your Intel® display device.
- Select the Driver tab.
- Click Roll Back Driver to restore.
If the option to roll back the driver is grayed out, one of the following applies:
- Your computer has not had a previous driver installed for that device.
- Your computer did not retain the driver files from the original version installed.
If you run into a situation like this, you can roll back your drivers by manually choosing the last known working version from the Intel or AMD Download Center.
